A BUILDING WITH A LONG-STANDING TRADITION
The building was built between 1915 and 1916 by the watch manufacturer Stadler. In 1930 it was taken over by Solothurn’s local authorities, which later handed it over to the first watchmakers’ school in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Between 1930 and 2002, watchmakers were trained at the prominent corner building in the north-west of what was known as the most beautiful baroque city in Switzerland. In 1972 the school was nationalized, and the building was subsequently rebuilt several times to meet the ever-changing requirements. In 2002 the school moved to Grenchen, and the traditional building was put on the market for sale. It was bought by COVER Watches, which fully renovated and rebuilt it.
